Visual content
My background in design and photography is especially useful as the world of digital marketing becomes increasingly visual. Here are a few multimedia projects — from photos and videos to infographics and quizzes — where I've used visual content to drive awareness, engagement and action.
Retail Across America
Directed documentary videos and supporting digital content for NRF’s Retail Across America campaign, featuring small business retailers and entrepreneurs in California and Kentucky. The videos garnered more than 50,000 views on YouTube and changed industry perceptions among policymakers and influencers.
California: The big community impact of small retailers in San Francisco (video)
California: Photojojo creates ‘real life’ connections with online customers (video and article)
Kentucky (video series)
State of the Union 2015
Led visual media production — concept, diorama construction, photography — for NRF’s rapid-response social media campaign during #SOTU2015.
Associations Now reviewed this visual play-by-play commentary on President Obama's State of the Union address, calling it “a cool way to stand out during the biggest speech of the year.”
Small business Week Quiz
Developed a BuzzFeed-style quiz — from concept and writing to image selection and production — to spotlight retailers and drive home NRF’s “every business starts small” message during Small Business Week. This was a highly engaging piece of content; more than 70 percent of people who viewed the article completed the quiz.
Back-to-school infographic
Worked with research, media and development teams to create a mobile-responsive infographic that supported a major consumer survey release. The resulting piece was one of the year's most-viewed and most-shared articles.
Small Business Spotlight: The Tie Bar
Led content development — writing, editing, photography, interviewing, video direction — for an article, video and Instagram series about a holiday pop-up shop in Washington, D.C.
